The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is the Manassas and Prince William County area’s premier all-volunteer community-service symphony orchestra. Our diverse blend of local artists and great music, along with unique programs and family-friendly atmosphere, are designed to delight both our long-time patrons and newest audience members.

Mission Statement: The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is a college and community organization comprised of residents of the greater Manassas area and students at the NVCC Manassas Campus. The orchestra exists for the purpose of performing symphonic literature to provide a quality orchestral experience for college students as well as a performance outlet for the talent and training of the community members. The orchestra serves to enlighten and educate the general public.

Who can join? The NOVA Manassas Symphony Orchestra is a regularly scheduled course, Music 148, offered by the NVCC Manassas Campus. All orchestra members are admitted to the college and enrolled in the course. All tuition fees for the course are covered by a scholarship provided by the symphony's Board of Directors. As the symphony is an all-volunteer community service organization, players are not compensated for their service.

The symphony is open to all area musicians by audition or prior arrangement with the conductor. Members are expected to be prepared for a rigorous and aggressive rehearsal schedule. The symphony provides a quality performance opportunity for serious adult players, and our membership ranges from once-professional musicians to music teachers to players who have returned to music making after long periods in which they did not play. College credit is optionally available for members of the orchestra through the NVCC Manassas Campus. In addition, the symphony provides advanced high school players the experience of performing in a full symphony orchestra setting. Interested high school musicians who have the permission of their teachers are encouraged to contact the orchestra.

Rehearsals: Every Wednesday evening from 7:30 - 9:30 at Metz Middle School in Manassas, Virginia. Regular rehearsals run from Labor Day until the May concert.
